Insurance

Will my insurance pay for the chair?

Many insurance companies do reimburse for travel wheelchairs. Contact your insurance provider for confirmation. We will provide you with a purchase receipt that you may submit to your insurance company for reimbursement.

 

FLUX SLIM LINE CHAIR

If you can take the arms off and make the tabs shorter...what size will that then be?

The chair measures 21.5" at the armrests, at the rear wheel axle, and at the front wheels. It is beyond our ability to reduce the overall width of this chair.

What is seat height to floor?

Adjustable from 18" to 21"

Where do I buy the safety wheels for the back to keep it from tipping to far backwards?

The FLUX is not equipped for an anti-tip device. The weight distribution is set so that the chair is very stable.

What is the actual weight of the chair, minus the shipping materials?

Where and how do the brakes work? What are hand rails?

The rear brakes are standard wheelchair brakes. You can simply reach down and move the lever forward to engage. The front casters are also equipped with brakes that can be stepped on to engage. Most people only use the rear brakes. - The Hand Hings are attached to the rear wheel and can be used to propel yourself. These are optional because some people prefer to scoot with their feet or be pushed by a caregiver. The hand Rings add 2' to the overall width of the chair.

Can it be taken apart for transport?

Will it fit?

The Reducer Seat Insert is designed to fit into any 14” or 16” wide chair. The flexible design will conform to your chair’s specific contours. The insert can be tailored to fit any chair.

Will it accommodate my positioning options?

Firm lateral supports and shoulder straps are no problem! The Reducer Seat Insert can be trimmed with scissors. You can cut slots for positioning options and it won’t fray.

Is it easy to position and remove?

There are no straps to attach. The insert simply drops into place. A non-slip provision will ensure proper positioning.

Is it comfortable?

Very! The EVA Foam core conforms to the body’s natural shape and the spandex cover provides a surface that is plush and comfortable. The ribbed surface promotes air flow and blood flow.

SIDEWINDER AUXILIARY PUSH HANDLE

How does it work?

It can be difficult to interact with someone in a wheelchair when you are pushing from behind. It’s hard to hear and see each other, and it can be a lonely experience for both occupant and caregiver. The Sidewinder Auxiliary push handle allows the caregiver to push and steer from the side.

Is it easy to steer?

With one hand on the wheelchair and one hand on the sidewinder, one can push and steer as easily as ever.

Will it attach to my wheelchair or stroller?

The universal attachment mount will accommodate practically all wheelchairs available.

How comfortable is the Pioneering Spirit?

Can I try it before I buy?

It is difficult to accurately assess the usefulness of a wheelchair during a short showroom visit. That is why we offer a 30-day trial period. Use the wheelchair in a real world environment, feel the quality, see if it fits in your trunk, sit in it for hours to test the comfort. If you are not totally satisfied, return the chair for a full refund.
