  • Fits doorways as narrow as 22 inches. 21.5″ wide as it ships — 23.5″ with the optional hand rings, so measure for 24″ if you want those.
  • Feels like an office chair, not a hospital chair. 3″ padded seat, contoured lumbar back, and a 22° tilt with adjustable tension.
  • 34 lbs, and low enough to walk yourself along with your feet. Brakes on all four wheels; seat height adjusts from 18″ to 21″.

How to check it will fit your home

The ADA standard for a doorway is 32 inches. Interior doors in American homes, especially older ones, commonly measure 22 to 28 inches. Bathroom doors are usually the narrowest in the house, and they are the ones that matter most.

That gap between the standard and the reality is why a standard wheelchair means either remodeling or three-point turns in the hallway.

Not sure it will fit? Measure the narrowest doorway you need to get through. If it's 22 inches or wider, the Slim-Line goes through it. If you'd like the hand rings, measure for 24 inches instead — they add 2 inches to the width.

What it's like to sit in all day.

While most standard chairs are bulky, boxy and built only for transportation around a hospital, the FLUX Slim-Line looks and functions like a comfy office chair. It’s supportive and flexible enough to keep up with a busy life at home. The seat rests low enough to the ground that the user can propel it forward with their feet, which can make it easier to travel across carpeted floors and give their arms a break. The seat also adjusts vertically and reclines smoothly with tilt tension.

Make it fit you

We make all kinds of accessories to customize your chair for the perfect fit and function. Add wheel lock extenders, foot plates, handrings, handle extensions and other accessories that work with all of our chairs so you can create the right fit for your body and your life.

Enjoy the freedom of uninterrupted and safe movement. This maneuverable narrow wheelchair for daily living allows you to never have to switch between chairs again.

What owners say

"I don't think I'll buy anything else than this amazing chair for my elderly dad in future. It's very comfortable for him and supports his back, and it's super easy for his caregivers to move him around the house." — Barbara H., verified customer

"I put the unit together and wheeled around my living room and the chair was perfect on our tile. Very comfortable and would be a great daily chair as it is well built and is more of an office chair than most wheel chairs." — Kenneth Y., verified customer

"This is an updated review, changing my rating to 5 stars. Recently had a question about the chair and called customer support. The representative was extremely helpful and provided excellent support." — Elaine W., verified customer

Question: Does this wheelchair fold?

Answer: No. This product is intended for indoor use and around the house or office.

Question: Will it fit through my doorway?

Answer: The wheelchair is 21.5 inches wide, so it fits any doorway of 22 inches or more. Measure the narrowest door you need to pass; for most homes, that's the bathroom. If you add the optional hand rings, measure for 24 inches instead.

Question: Does this wheelchair have footrests?

Answer: The chair includes footrests as an extra option for those who prefer one.

Question: Can I try the chair before I commit?

Answer: Yes - at home, for 30 days. Order the chair, use it in your own rooms and doorways, and if it isn't right, send it back for a full refund. The chair is only sold through this store, so a home trial is the way to try it.

Question: What if I need to return it?

Answer: Call or email us within 30 days of delivery and we'll issue a Return Authorization number and send a full refund once the chair is back with us.

Question: How do you adjust the tilt?

Answer: The tilting mechanism is spring loaded. Simply lean back and it will tilt with you. You can adjust the force of the spring with a knob. It’ is the same type of adjustment you could expect to see on an office chair. There is also a locking mechanism that will lock the chair into the upright position.

Question: What is the seat height?

Answer: The seat is adjustable, offering height options ranging from 18” to 21” from the floor.

Question: How do you apply the brakes?

Answer: All four wheels have brakes.  The rear wheels have standard hand operated wheelchair brakes and the front casters have a pedal that can be stepped on to engage.

Question: Why aren’t the hand rings standard?

Answer: The hand rings add 2” to the overall width of the chair. Many people purchase the FLUX for the express purpose of getting into tight spaces like bathroom doors, and the additional 2 inches is not optimal for them.

Question: How long will it take to get my new chair?

Answer: All orders ship within 48 hours via Fedex Ground service. The time it will take in transit will vary according to where it is shipped. Overnight shipments are available upon request. International shipments vary depending on the distribution arrangements within each country.

Question: Will my insurance pay for the chair?

Answer: Many insurance companies do reimburse for this product. Contact your insurance provider for confirmation. We will provide you with a purchase receipt that you may submit to your insurance company for reimbursement.  HCPCS Code: E1250
